Curriculum 2020

Based on the Decree of the Dean of Fikom Unpad Number 1692 / Year 2023 concerning the Determination of the Equalisation of the Semester Credit System (SKS) of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), stipulates that 1 SKS is equivalent to 1.8 ECTS. Therefore, the Journalism Study Programme which has 144 credits is equivalent to 259.2 ECTS.

The following curriculum is the curriculum that applies to class 2021 students. There are some minor differences in curriculum material such as the structure and arrangement of courses with previous batches (2020, 2019 and so on). Study Materials

In order to achieve the graduate learning outcome, the journalism study program sets 10 study materials in its curriculum, namely :

  1. Research methodologies;
  2. Theories, structure and history of communication;
  3. General knowledge;
  4. Writing, storytelling, and audio-visual techniques (analogical & digital),
  5. Technologies and technological skills;
  6. Theory and structure of the journalistic profession;
  7. News production;
  8. Journalistic genres;
  9. Specialized journalism;
  10. Company and business model.

Journalism study program is required to refine its curriculum annually, which is later evaluated every four to five years to review its learning outcomes. Journalism study program carry out curriculum evaluations based on inputs from the labor market, alumni and experts, to synchronize graduate learning outcomes, learning content and methods.
