Journalism Programme aims at producing reliable and professional journalists for various media platforms, researchers for media and journalism studies, journalistic teachers, or media consultants. Therefore, Journalism Programme prepares a curriculum in view of scientific developments and journalistic skills, the direction of higher education policy in Indonesia, and industry trends.
Curriculum of Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLO) prepared by Journalism Programme refers to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (INQF) level 6 and the National Standard of Higher Education (NS-DIKTI). GLO includes elements of attitude, knowledge, and skills.
Elements of general attitudes and skills follow the formulations listed in the attachment of NS-DIKTI plus the formulation of elements of attitudes on the aspects of journalistic ethics; while the elements of special skills and knowledge refer to several references, such as the Competency Standard for Indonesian Journalists, the formulation of the GLO for similar study programs, WJECs’ Principles of Journalism Education, the UNESCO version of Journalism curriculum model; and inputs from relevant stakeholders.
