On December 4, 2021, at Ronia’s in Lembang, a special event was held as the first gathering after the pandemic began to subside. The event was filled with nostalgic activities between the alumni of IKA Journalism Unpad and the Journalism Program of Fikom Unpad. After going through a difficult period during the pandemic, they finally had the opportunity to share experiences and celebrate the bonds they had.
The participants of this event introduced themselves and engaged in informal conversations. They enthusiastically shared old stories, reminisced about their college days, and exchanged career journey anecdotes since graduation. The room was filled with warmth and camaraderie as everyone felt the importance of having strong connections in the field of journalism.
Additionally, the event provided an opportunity for the alumni and the program to plan future activities. They discussed possibilities for collaborations, seminars, or other joint initiatives. Fresh ideas and inspiration emerged, making this event a platform to rebuild strong relationships between the alumni and the program.
However, unfortunately, the Journalism Student Association (HMJ) could not send their representative to the event. The reason being that the event coincided with the schedule of the HMJ’s Grand Deliberation for the period of Khotmannuba Alwin Jalliyani 2019. Nevertheless, the absence of HMJ did not diminish the enthusiasm and spirit of the other participants present.
This glimpse of the past at Ronia’s in Lembang on December 4, 2021, serves as a good starting point to restore the bonds and connections between the alumni, program, and journalism students after the challenging times faced during the pandemic. The event served as a moment of nostalgia, learning, and hope for a brighter future in the field of journalism.
