Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Padjadjaran, has successfully conducted the main event series of Epicentrum 2022 from May 17th to 20th, 2022. This year, the theme of Epicentrum was “Earthmergency Call: Action Against Climate Disruption”. The aim of Epicentrum 2022 was to provide a platform for students to fulfill their roles as agents of change in addressing the global climate crisis through the lens of communication. This year, Epicentrum welcomed participants from both national and international backgrounds.
The Opening Ceremony of Epicentrum 2022 took place on May 17th, 2022, through the Epicentrum Fikom Unpad YouTube channel. The event was enlivened by contemporary dance performances from Etam Performing Arts Foundation, Wayang Golek puppetry by Ki Dalang Khanha, and singing performances by Aurelia Azzahra. The activities of Epicentrum 2022 continued with talk shows from each competition category and final presentations by the finalists held on May 17th and 18th, 2022. The seven competition categories in Epicentrum 2022 were Research Mindedness, The 10th Padjadjaran Public Relations Fair, Liblicious, Commoviecator, Ideation, Mediation, and Journalism Parade.
Furthermore, the series of Epicentrum 2022 events concluded with the Closing Ceremony on May 20th, 2022. The event included an awarding night where the winners of each competition category in Epicentrum 2022 were announced. Additionally, the event was also filled with performances by Lises Unpad, Callista Rahmadhani, and Akbar Eka Putra. This year, Epicentrum was participated by more than 95 participants from 22 universities across Asia.
The success of the Epicentrum 2022 event series would not have been possible without the hard work of the organizing committee and the cooperation of sponsors, including PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara), Pakalolo Boots, PT Petrokimia Gresik, Somethinc, Ajaib, Waroeng SS, and By.U. Epicentrum 2022 also formed partnerships with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), and CNN Indonesia. Moreover, Epicentrum collaborated with media partners such as TRANS 7, NET TV, Detik.com, Pikiran Rakyat, Hipwee, International Office Unpad, Radio Citra Megaswara Bogor, AIESEC in Bandung, AIESEC in Unpad, OpportuNest, and many others.
